My name is Justin Angeles, senior at Central Connecticut State University, born and raised in Connecticut. I am the middle child of three at the age of 22.
Growing up I have always had an interest in outdoor sports and technology. If it had wheels, it had my attention. But after an accident, leaving me with crutches for about a year, I started focusing my interest in technology. My interest grew more and more as new technologies were being developed and introduced to the public.
It had never been easier to have access to a powerful device you can simply put in your pocket. I first started with an app development class in high school later lead me to an internship creating apps for the city of Hartford. Then working desktop support for insurance companies. After these opportunities, I realized this growing demand for tech savvy people, with technology being integrated into our everyday lives constantly. With this in mind I decided to pursue a career in management information systems or MIS (database management).
During my studies I was given an opportunity with a company to experience the day to day life of a MIS professional. In my position, I was behind a desk for most of the day watching each hour pass and do work that did not feel meaningful. I had prior knowledge and did not think staying in the field would help me excel.
With these experiences I wanted to do more than work with databases. I wanted to learn how to manage teams and be able to work with people. That being said, I have switched to a study of Business Management with a focus of entrepreneurship.
Getting closer to my graduation date I am excited to get my degree and hope to use my studies to establish a business that is self-sustained and is around even when I am gone to support myself and my family.
