You Break, I Fix

UBreakIFix is a growing tech repair franchise that continues to outshine the competition.

UBreakIFix is where the tech geeks reside to help and attempt repairing device other places will not touch. This growing franchise is one of the only tech repair shops that offers OEM parts for most repairs on well-known smartphones and other devices. Who are they and why should you choose them over the other repair shops?

History

In 2009, a man named Eddie Trujillo opened a repair shop in Orlando, Florida, centered around servicing technology such as smartphones, game consoles, tablets, and computers. Gaining good traction and creating a franchise model more and more stores began opening along the East Coast.

In 2016, they struck a deal and became an authorized walk-in repair center. Offering OEM parts, quick and easy repair for Google Pixel devices so customers no longer have the need to wait for mail in repairs! Two years later, they secured a similar deal with Samsung. Currently, there are over 500 store locations throughout the US, and some can be found in Canada and some parts of the Caribbean Islands.

What the difference?

So, what makes this franchise stick out from the others? As mentioned before, they are authorized repair partners with both Google and Samsung offering OEM parts for their devices. UBreakIFix is currently the only locations with OEM parts. Customers that have a manufacture malfunctions and are still under warranty can simply walk-in, drop off their device, receive proper diagnostic and repair with cost covered by Samsung or Google.

Also, as part of the agreement with these companies, the technicians are trained to thoroughly test and ensure the device that is given back to the customer meets with factory standards.

All repairs outside of warranties are treated the same but are paid out of pocket by the customer, and all repairs out of warranty are backed by a 90-day warranty. Other repair shops simply purchase third party parts that are likely not tested correctly when given back as is. The third part will likely do more harm than good. They also will not stand by their repairs and brush it off as a defective device.

UBreakIFix practices a standard policy of helping their customers no matter the circumstance and take full responsibility if the repair does not meet with the customers standards.

Close to Home

If you are in the Connecticut area, you can find UBreakIFix right in Newington. The staff there have given their thoughts on what it is like to be a technician for the franchise. This location opened back in March of 2019 and is still up and running and is slowly growing, gaining more and more customers every day. Giving customers hope that their device has a chance for repair.

The owner and technicians all are very knowledgeable and kind enough to give you their attention and honest opinion if a repair is feasible, both physically or economically. The owner of this location stated, “We are here to help and will attempt any repair that walks through the door and keep customers updated every step of the repair.”

But not every repair is welcomed with understanding. Some customers think that just because they are the tech experts, they can repair anything. There are some horror stories that can be found in their reviews online.

But the owner and techs want everyone to know, “We are techs, not magicians.” Not all repairs will be successful as the tech available to the public is only getting more sensitive and prone to damage. For example, the simple act of dropping your device and cracking your screen and rendering the screen black, yes, the screen can be replaced and turn on, but certain functions of the phone can be damaged internally from the initial impact and not apparent until the repair is done.

So be patient and work closely with the tech with your repair to ensure they know every known issue of the device, streamlining your repair.
